Vacancy: Senior Agronomist, Asia and Oceania
Reporting to: Adrian Ng, General Manager- Koch Agronomic Services
Koch Agronomic Services, together with Koch Fertilisers, produces, sources and distributes more than 13 million tons of mineral, compound and enhanced efficiency fertilisers worldwide.
Koch Agronomic Services has the vision of becoming the world leader in making plant nutrients more efficient. In Asia and Oceania, Koch Agronomic Services is expanding its downstream position with a physical presence in 3 countries and a sales network across 5 markets. Our goal is to grow by creating value for the farmer. We offer a dynamic portfolio of differentiated plant nutrients, global crop knowledge applied through local agronomic competence, as well as the global trust and reliability of the Koch brand.
Provide agronomic training and support to local offices and distributors
Develop content supporting the value proposition for our products use in key crops in the Asia and Oceania region
Supervise research and field trials for product registration and to prove product efficacy in the market
Assist the marketing group in providing technical and trial data for sales and promotional tools
Coordinate with KAS competence groups, local distributors, government and independent agencies in providing compliant, technical documents and talking points on product usage when needed
Increase awareness, build knowledge and facilitate best practice sharing in the region
Actively seek out new market opportunities and innovation that could be acquired to increase the product portfolio and downstream position for the business
Represent KF/KAS at trade meetings. Obtain buy-in and conduct regional agronomy workshops. Work with the marketing group to develop the regional newsletter for KAS
Provide technical agronomic support to business analysts evaluating market opportunities
Support Koch Companies Public Sector efforts within the region
Bachelor degree in Agronomy, soil or agriculture related disciplines with 7 to 10 years of experience
Excellent English written and oral communication skills
Extensive knowledge of regional crops and production practices
Ability to work as a member of a performance-driven, multidisciplinary team of professionals
10,000% compliance especially related to government interaction
Be the regional expert and go-to person for agronomic information
Be seen as the regional leader and spokesperson for Enhanced Efficiency Fertilisers and other agricultural innovations
Be ready to be challenged in an entrepreneurial setting and seen as a pioneer for the business
Lead the development of a knowledge-driven organisation. Facilitate best practice sharing.
Produce successful trial results with well-planned protocols, execution and monitoring processes
Develop new presentation and marketing materials that are simple and visually effective
Moderate travel (estimated 120 - 150 days) is expected for this position
